"taking many walks with august and also livia in the backpack hiking several times on the dunes of north holland and driving to other places also to the east and the south to take small walks mostly in nature but then pausing the registration of the car to save money and only hiking in culemborg and almost taking very small walks after myrthe resumed working and i started baby-sittingboth kids only venturing further out of town when left with only one to take care of and during a weekend with myrthe taking the train to utrecht to take a biggerwalk there around and across the city"

"a month spent without our car to save the tax money and with my small kids to take care of but nonetheless managing to take quite some walks both in culemborg reaching even the nearby village of beusichem with livia and walking onthe dike going upstream with silvester sleeping in the pram and with both kids for the first time venturing alone in utrecht and crossing it but also taking a walk alone in amsterdam from south to central on my way to pick august at the airport and with him taking a walk in the ugly and modern houten to check for a jacket for his birthday and then also going back with him and the kids for a long walk in utrecht this time with two strollers and managing on the way back with also myrthe to reach lunette exploring the last bit of the old railroad"

"taking several walks always in the netherlands with now a better weather and also my kids seating both in the double strollers crossing utrecht a few times with them and mostly otherwise walking in culemborg and only taking a long walk alone in rotterdam waiting for a meeting at the art academy there exploring the west of the city finding an abandoned railway to walk on but then getting back to culemborg and having to keep it there with a lock-down of the city given the coronavirus outbreak and at this point keeping up my walks with the kids mostly in natural areas avoiding busy places"

"walking daily with a very sunny beginning of the spring yet under the coronavirus pandemic lock-down keeping it always in our dutch town and walking with the kids in the stroller several times to the same destinations by the river to play but also to do a bit of shopping to build the mosaics i decide to build aspart of my alpine installation and only a few times venturing by bike with liviain the nearby villages like walking with her down the river near everdingen andalso walking a bit around the lake in beusichem"

"walking quite a lot with my kids with myrthe working from home now all of us restricted to our village due to the coronavirus lock-down but freely walking around and also discovering new places like how to get following the river upstream to our favorite beach on the north of town but other than that very often doing the same walk there down the old dike to bring the kids to play"

"still many sunny days in the netherlands walking with the kids and even venturing to utrecht for the first time after the lock-down making and in our dutch village making mostly upstream also to avoid dogs and walking around cas and petra cabin near doorn after biking there to then travel by car with the whole family to italy only stopping briefly in germany with still the country quite affected by the lock-down and not stopping at all in austria being granted only to drive across land in italy just walking around the contrada with both the kids to look after and everything to unpack"

"walking while in italy still with the kids unable to go very far yet being quite regular going up and down the nearby mountain roads and also walking to my installation despite the works being still blocked there and walking in the town of schio mostly shopping for the mountains as well taking longer walks with the kids behind the space where their mom worked in the middle of a nice countryside and only in one occasion taking a longer walk up the pasubio mountain with the french and american girls coming to film my installation"

"getting at last the permit to build my installation and taking very little walks now fully immersed in working on it yet involving myrthe and the kids walking to it and also walking to the vegetarian restaurant once also alone taking a shortcut through the forest and walking once down to the other restaurant with the kids beside that walking in schio with the kids through the market and once to the market in santorso and in one occasion taking a hike with livia on top of the novegno mountain to show her the cows there"

"finishing to set up the main structure of my mountain cube installation and feeling freer to walk visiting myrthe's colleague in the belluno alps talking a small walk there and also walking with my sister's family the old railroad towards arsiero always with the kids unable to do such great distances and later traveling back to holland stopping in southern germany at florian's taking longer walk with him there in the black forest before returning to culemborg and just walking with the kids to the river and the chicken zoo"

"a month in the netherlands with not the best weather and also stopping the car to save some money being then confined in our dutch town walking a lot with the kids and trying to vary our excursion based on the limited options going to one or another park or to the river and also along the dike but never for too long with the kids getting tired and once also trying to walk with them down the river but at last having to carry them both back and only in one occasion going to utrecht with the family and walking across it"

"walking very much despite the bad weather but also having to face a new wave of the pandemic forcing us within our dutch town and with the kids literally walking in all direction preferring the the east with the dike and open green landscapes but also walking to the more urban west and south and only occasionally and always with the kids making it by train once to den bosch and the other time to amersfoort to get myrthe tested for the virus and walking across these city as well as walking in the forest near myrthe's brother cabin and beside this repeating kilometers long walks in our town"

"reactivating the car during myrthe's fall vacation with the pandemic restrictions no longer allowing us to take trains and visit cities now driving to many different natural sights both north and south of our dutch town and taking many important walks with also the kids at times also walking and with livia feeling most excited about the forest environment and taking also minor walks aside from the many usual walks in culemborg at last also going to visit august in sweden for his fall vacation and with him taking many walks reviving old places like hammarskog and a nice new elevated walk by the lake but also one afternoon crossing the entire natural reserve aside from taking walks around his property with quite a lot of the old forest being cleared"

"taking quite some walks in culemborg almost daily with the kids despite the cold weather and in the weekend going with the little family mostly to city given the bad and cold weather not really allowing us to visit any more natural sites beside the nice dunes north of den haag and exploring arnhem finding the nice riverside filled with graffiti there and nijmegen always however being careful not to come in contact with the crowd given the pandemic and at last following myrthe to utrecht working also on saturdays and walking with the kids there quite extensively however often a low speed allowing them also to walk"

"only managing to take a nice walk with the kids in the south of rotterdam following myrthe there to assess one of her students doing an internship and then having to keep in our village with the pandemic kicking in again and a total lock-down being imposed but also spending much time cutting metal and welding it in preparation of my museum in the alps and reducing my time walking around to only when myrthe is working and i have the kids thus not really taking trips in the weekend but staying home"

"another month of lock-down in the netherlands and keeping with the kids in our village also not venturing too far with the weather being quite cold and rainy but taking mostly little walks only once biking on the other side of the river and walking around a fortification and otherwise spending the weekend building a metal workshop in the garden letting myrthe to look after the kids and walk with them"

"another month locked up in our dutch village only twice taking driving some kilometers to the south to play with the kids in a forest and talking a small walk there but other than that walking in the village making use of the few sunny days and later also getting unable to walk because of the snow and silvester not really liking to be out in the cold but then getting used to it dragging him on a laundry basket along the canals and bringing livia regularly to the dike to go with the sled until also the canals got frozen and venturing with the kids also on them creating new routes that we would not be able to walk on otherwise"

"making an effort to explore outside of our village despite the lock-down and spending some sunny days in myrthe's brother cabin in the forest taking walks there with the kids trying not to overdo it and also taking a major hike with silvester alone in the backpack walking on the dunes in the near of haarlem but beside for that walking mostly in culemborg and with the sunny weather venturing only once with silvester across the fields now also resuming the welding of the textures in the backyard and going less outside"

"breaking with the pandemic restrictions confining us to our dutch village and taking the kids several times to take walk in other places such as in the forest near the beautiful linge river but also further south to neerijnen trying out new paths on the forest but also making across meadows to a wild beach on the big river waal managing with both kids despite the mud but finding beautiful days and also taking long walks in culemborg even with not as nice days with livia at school only taking silvester upstream and later taking both kids to explore for the first time the biesbosch taking there a memorable walk together and in a sunny hot day taking them by car to noordwijk and going for a walk there across the dunes to the sea side letting them walk most of the time and making it a memorable day a beside that also trying to take myrthe for walks to make her relax from work but always finding not the best weather taking her once with the kids to elst on the other side of the river to try to spot wild animals and then another weekend given the windy weather walking around den bosch"

"dedicating my free time intensively to weld the texture of the project museum yet nonetheless taking advantage of some sunny days to do excursions with little silvester while livia is at school combining it with picking new gas or new wire for the welder mostly on the other side of the river in the hoge veluwe exploring both the forest north of amerongen as well as the forest south of veenendaal and waiting for good weather conditions to go with also livia for a nice walk and making it once more to noordwijk walking with both kids without stroller through the dunes to the beach and there together walking along the sea all the way to the village and back through the dunes and beside for these explorations also taking nice walks with the kids in our village and when livia is at school venturing with silvester across the fields and along the river and only in one occasion taking a walk by myself at sunset to clear up my mind"

"again a month spent welding the project museum textures but really making an effort to go out as well taking the kids also to stroll around utrecht finding the city most empty due to the pandemic but also increasingly more luxurious and later trying to go to more authentic places like walking in the forest after once again replacing the gas can of my welder on the other side of the river and also taking a walk in the near of the linge river this time also with myrthe exploring some new paths across the spring blossoming fields and also at time feeling the need to walk more beside the usual rounds in our dutch village making with the kids to the industrial area to plan the shipping of the project museum textures to italy and after over a year making it at last back to amsterdam with the easing of the lock-down to join the protest against the bombing of gaza making an important walk from the stadium to the city center also several times going to delft to explore the field of landart park where i could build an installation"

"walks taken at first in holland strolling east and west of our village there but also taking the kids for a walk to a forest in waalwijk and later in waalwijk itself despite the rainy weather and also taking a major walk on a sunny sunday from delft all the way into rotterdam via a land art park were i considered putting my mosaic work at last traveling to italy and only making one stop in bolzano finding everything closed and anyway under the pandemic and then taking some walks in schio and in our mountain roads pushing the kids up and down with the stroller before starting to weld together the museum textures and spending my time in a garage"

"at first in the mountains walking up to the museum to work there trying not to use the tractor unless necessary especially also after getting a flat tire after trying to reach the museum by car and also walking briefly in schio with the kids to fetch a volunteer coming from the south of italy and walking from the playground in poleo to get pizzas but beside mostly working on the museum and not really talking many other walks but in the weekend going once to bassano to get a pair of trousers for august and meet my aunts and in vicenza but especially later at the seaside in lignano taking long walks with the kids despite not having the double stroller with me and many times having to carry livia on my shoulders while pushing silvester in a normal stroller and even managing to walk all the way to an internet cafe in the next village to update my website and beside walking several times through the main street to take the kids to the playground in the middle of town and back in the mountains venturing for one longer walk to a tibetan bridge below the small dolomites this time carrying the kids in the backpack with august having silvester and myself sweet little livia"

"finishing to weld the textures on the project museum and trying to wrap up so as to have time to spend with myrthe and the kids but also with her mother and august taking them for walks down in the bike path to giavenale discovering the beautiful countryside there and also up in the novegno mountain about our village and in campogrosso venturing on the baffelan mountain with august but feeling to scare of heights in the end joining myrthe and the kids on the way back to the tibetan bridge and later on taking walks alone with august in venice trying to fix our apartment there and in milan walking dozens of kilometers everyday from one side to another of the city at last concentrating around chinatown until august departure"

"a period being left without kids while in italy and doing some walking up and down from my village to the project museum cleaning the path and also taking my german artist friend florian and his daughters for a walk up to galleries of mount pasubio later going to venice to refresh the apartment there and walking through the old city despite my feet being quite swollen due to the heat also later walking in verona before making it back to the netherlands and with the cooler weather there having no issues with my feet and taking several walks with myrthe and the kids in natural reserves but also spending a weekend in germany exploring there the city of essen and dusseldorf"

"in the netherlands taking several walks also to try to distract myrthe from her work and going together to nordwijk walking with the kids n our shoulders and also walking in utrecht a few times and also with the kids taking a very long walk along the waal enjoying the very nice sunny fall and making them walk as never before also taking many walks in our town and alone with silvester while livia went to school walking downstream along the lek and later with livia having a good time in the forest north of doorn again going quite far and training also silvester into becoming a much better walker than kids his age later also still in the hogeweluwe with myrthe and the kids crossing over the amerongen small mountains finding a beautiful valley to walk on and beside that only once venturing outside holland and visiting an art foundation in belgium later walking with silvester in my shoulder through the gentrified center of antwerp and with myrthe's father the more relaxing sculptural park of middelheim"

"a last month of autumn sun and walks with my kids with the prospect of going to work full time and being unable in the future to walk a smuch again especially with my little ones and beside walking extensively in our dutch village also crossing the meadows with silvester while livia attended school also venturing with both of them to gorinchem and walking all around the medieval walls enjoying a most beautiful day also crossing a big forest walking with them east of driebergen while their mother had her meeting with her coach and later going all together on holiday to provence taking many daily walks both in the town or manosque where we camped and later also venturing in the verdon canyon walking quite a bit along it and exploring some nearby town and later walking in the beautiful forcalquier during a market going also up to the old fortress and even driving north of the town to explore with the kids the lime formations with at times silvester and at times livia feeling quite tired and unwilling to walk but generally with both kids being very fit and ready to walk kilometers"

"still taking walks in the beautiful provence and later in france on our way back to holland where i began working full time as a carpenter and there trying to take walks in the weekend with the kids both in our village but also in other dutch cities like arnhem and around the zoo in rhenen making silvester asleep but also starting to take walks at work during my lunch break especially when building exhibitions in other cities such as in apeldoorn but especially in amsterdam departing from the stedelijk museum where i work and from there hitting every day a different direction"

"making a big effort to take walks spending wait too much time at work and even being forced to keep in the workshop as i need to leave on time to get my kids being denied to go to locations in museums and so making it impossible to explore places as i did before during my break but once doing some preparation work in utrecht and taking small walks around the workshop during the week and with my kids making it a point to walk during the weekend exploring once the downtown near my work place walking up river and trying during a free sunny day to walk on the waal dike but finding it too cold for them ending up walking in tiel and really enjoying ourselves with myrthe once also walking in den haag exploring the allies bombed down neighborhood to the north but also walking in culemborg mostly trying to get my head back in place and even taking silvester up stream during a rainy day"

"setting free from my low paid full time work taking long walks with my kids like in the dunes in haarlem during a beautiful spring like day carrying them through the frozen sand and later crossing the whole of breda to celebrate christams at first in one and than the other of my girlfriend's parents and with her and the kids also taking an healthy walk in the biesbosch walking also in amsterdam after a long time and with all shops closed due to the pandemic despite the holidays taking walks also in utrecht during my too short breaks while working in a museum there and with myrthe and the kids also taking a nice walk to the mystic radio kootwijk in the middle of a desert area also bringing the kids to a similar ares in oss and aside from taking also a walk with them on a cold saturday in den bosch walking not so much in our village"

"no longer working as a low paid carpenter now taking more walks despite the bad weather in the netherlands managing to go to utrecht several times with the kids and also once in arnhem reaching the city with myrthe and the kids across the hills to the north and beside several walks in the rain in our village also walking in gorinchem before traveling down south with the kids making several stops such as in a forest next to a german highway and later at florian in mullheim going both in the black forest and out in the fields to the horses with his daughters before making to switzerland taking a nice little walk there with my kiddies across a river and then in lombardy in the nice hills of an ugly town at last making it to my native highland in asiago with also august walking with my friend francesco to asiago downtown"

"a month with quite some intensive walking especially in italy at first in my native highland exploring the possibility to build a new sculpture there walking with at times both my children in my back and with august not really wanting to hang out with them but then taking a nicer walk together along the summano mountain pushing both strollers and having august happier and also livia who managed to walk a lot of the path in the end also walking quite a bit to show people the project museum investigating there as well the possibility to expand it with the intervention of other artists but most importantly walking a lot in venice and in the nearby islands of lido and burano but also giudecca enjoying the laguna before selling our apartment there and travling with the kids back to holland making a one stop to heidelberg exploring the beautiful german city with a nice spring weather before reaching holland and there walking mostly in our village mostly in the direction of livia's school picking her every afternoon and taking small walks together with silvester and only once making it to utrecht and walking also with myrthe to the zoo park there from the city center"

"a month back in the netherlands with quite some nie spring days but nonetheless walking quite little mostly spending my time out in the garden to make space to a laboratory there and going almost every day to bring and pick up Livia to school with the kids using their steps or their bikes having to be very careful about the traffic and not really venturing any further but to gouda taking a small walk with the family after purchasing a more economic second hand car and to wourden where i walk with the children fetching a second hand newer laptop there and beside that walking in tiel after our visit to the notary there parking the car out of the paying zone and once going with the children in the cute buren walking a bit around there despite the cold snowy weather always adapting to their strength"

"a month not really taking any major walk in the netherlands always a bit busy at home taking care of the children and working on the path in the garden but also being able to pause the work and go for example with the whole family to check the tulip fields in noordwijk walking later to the beach and also alone with silvester with livia at school taking small walks after checking out a laser machine to produce the tags for the project museum also with the family going to utrecht late in the afternoon crossing the city as i used when livia was little through the cemetery and on the old railroad also taking walk in the southern part of the our town and in our town going a few times walking with the children now having both of them on the same stroller also taking myrthe's students for an excursion in dusseldorf and taking quite a walk alone there even guiding the teachers to the japanese district i already went to last summer and on my way to italy stopping at florian and taking a very energizing walk in the black forest"

"walking in italy going up and down the project museum valley bringing students there and also walking a bit in vicenza visiting my best friend as well as a bit in schio doing errands in preparation of the workshops at the project museum and only later driving back through germany deciding to take a serious walk in the beautiful stuttgart surrounding with a perfect weather and a nice and challenging hilly landscape later also stopping in koblenz but not finding the city any nicer at last returning to the netherlands and getting a bit stuck with the children there getting sick but managing to walk in our village with them putting both in the same stroller and venturing out to the river and downstream through the nice landscape in a very warm sunday but also with silvester taking a very long walk in scheveningen exploring the actual city after having dropped a sculpture of a friend there and beside that also walking with the family in tiel while myrthe had her lungs checked at the hospital later also walking to the wilds beach along the waal river"
WALKS: MONTH #179
"beside a very long walk taken from one side to another in breda mostly walking in our dutch town and then in few other towns on our side and on the other side of the river mostly going by car with family and then with the kids alone venturing through germany making several stops at first in aschaffenburg walking extensively with the kids there crossing the old town and reaching the old castle to then make it back the other side of the city where we stayed at some ukrainian refugees and the day after with the kids walking a nice oak forest there before taking small walks during our stops reaching the south of bavaria and there taking longer walks in the village where we spent the night going to a pond to bathe and with quite some nice sunny days visiting at first ravensbug still pushing the kids up the medieval city with the stroller but later letting them run down and at last getting them to walk all alone up the disney like castle in the near of fussen being quite impressed with their resistance ultimately crossing austria and in italy walking across a most empty but beautiful rovereto under a strong heat to then visit my aunt in padua and only for one day reunite with myrthe"

"despite working at the floors of the project museum making it often up there walking and also taking some time to take the children to walk mostly in the afternoon going on the giavenale bike path down the mountains but also to marano and up to novegno attempting a little round of the to but having the children not really willing to go up hill and with them going for a long walk down to the astico river to find a place where to swim in the heat and walking all the way back with silvester in the stroller and livia displaying a great strength and later picking myrthe up at the airport and visting francesco in jesolo taking a walk with his family in the tourist seaside place there before with the whole family traveling to the south of italy in abruzzo and everyday explore new places trying to take small walks along the wild beaches we been to but also the old villages like vasto and scerni where we rented our house"
